Walk-off Seals Win For Mentor Against Rebels
Rebels fell to Mentor 4-3 on Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at three with Mentor batting in the bottom of the seventh when Matt Sabin singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Rebels got things started in the first inning. Mitch Ruple grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Mentor tied things up at three. An error scored one run for Mentor.
Dan Zelina led the Mentor to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Ruple took the loss for Rebels. He lasted one inning, allowing one hit and one run while striking out one.
Squire Chapman started the game for Mentor. He allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out eight Dom Prevesk started the game for Rebels. He allowed six hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking one
Ruple led Rebels with two hits in four at bats.
Sabin went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Mentor in hits.
