Early Lead For Riverside Seals Fate For Rebels
Rebels watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-0 loss to Riverside on Friday. Riverside scored on a single by Campbell in the first inning, a double by Brown in the first inning, and a triple by Keller in the second inning.
Riverside opened up scoring in the first inning. Campbell singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
One bright spot for Rebels was a single by Dom Cairns in the first inning.
Campbell pitched Riverside to victory. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero.
Zach Houghtaling took the loss for Rebels. He allowed four hits and four runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one.
Cairns, Tyler Waseleski, Mitch Ruple, and Steven D’Eusanio each collected one hit to lead Rebels.
Riverside saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Weber and Campbell all collected multiple hits for Riverside.
