Rebels Loses Lead Early in Defeat
Rebels watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-2 loss to St. Ignatius on Wednesday. St. Ignatius scored on an error, a triple by Eyink, and a groundout by Conway in the first inning.
The Rebels struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing St. Ignatius, giving up nine runs.
In the first inning, St. Ignatius got their offense started when an error scored one run for St. Ignatius.
St. Ignatius scored four runs in the fifth inning. Eyink, Jones, and Ferritto each had RBIs in the frame.
Mulhern got the win for St. Ignatius. He allowed two hits and two runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Holdsworth threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
John Susnik took the loss for Rebels. He lasted two innings, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out two and walking one.
Dom Cairns, Zack Ryan, Dom Prevesk, and Steven D’Eusanio each collected one hit to lead Rebels.
St. Ignatius saw the ball well today, racking up seven hits in the game. Gaich and Eyink each managed multiple hits for St. Ignatius. Gaich led St. Ignatius with three hits in three at bats.
